My name is Nikos Zouras and I was born on 22/2/1979 in Piraeus. I am a non-commissioned officer in the Navy serving for 21 years in the Frogmen and Submarine Disaster Command. My mother is from Amygdalia Arkadia and my father from Paleo Faliro. Since 1984 I lived in Poulithra where we stayed until 1994 as permanent residents. I went to primary school in Poulithra and high school up to A' high school in Leonidio. On Saturday 28 September 2024 at 07:00 we started 400 athletes from 55 countries under the Acropolis with the finish in Sparta, in a 248 km race with a positive altitude of 3014m. The limit to finish the race on time was 36 hours.
My finishing time was 35:11′.
The weather conditions were adverse for such a race with very hot and humid conditions. In some places the mercury exceeded 32 degrees Celsius!In the end, 193 athletes finished out of 400 athletes.
