Explore the following maps with the marked paths of the Local Community of Poulithron:
M1. Pulithra – Polichni
The path takes you to the hill Vigla that rises above the harbour of the village, the ancient acropolis / fortress of Poulithra, the "Polychni".
The hill Vigla (159m) dominates the surrounding area and the bay of Poulithra. At its top and around it, there are remains of an ancient settlement, surrounded by a strong wall built according to the pseudo-isodom and pseudo-polygonal system. The wall on the west side can be dated between the last quarter of the 4th century B.C. Inside the enclosure, there are large retaining walls. South of the top there is an apiphysical cistern carved into the natural rock. The mouth consists of large dressed stones and is 0.90m in diameter.
The few findings that we have from ancient Polihni were found in graves northwest of the hill near the road Poulithron - Peletes and were handed over in 1964 to the Museum of Astros.
In medieval times, a square tower of 5 m. side was built on the top of the hill to serve as a watchtower. This is a convincing interpretation of the newer place name Vigla.

M2. Pulithra – Cave "Mana"
The short and beautiful path, located in the heart of the village, leads you to the cave "Mana". The cave "Mana" is located in the middle of the village and is a horizontal cave ~1.5km long, without any particular difficulties, flooded with water and precipitation at one point inside. The water, which until recently met the water supply needs of the village of Poulithron, although it comes from the mountain, is not low in temperature.
Only speleologists have access to the cave "Mana". The penetration in the first part reaches up to 200m, the movement is in the water, then the water joins the roof and the passage slopes down. Special equipment and appropriate training is needed to pass the passage. After the passage, the cave continues for another kilometer to the lake that cave divers occasionally try to explore for any continuation of the underground passage.
The path crosses the green and dense vegetation of the gorge and leads you to an impressive 10-meter waterfall. The visitor can return to the beginning of the path or through a bridge, to the main road of the village, about 1 km from the beach.

M3. Pulithra – St George
The coastal path starts from the port of Poulithra, passes through the bay of Agios Georgios with the olive trees and carob trees with the 3 beautiful beaches (Avdella, Schoinos, Apothikes) and ends at the chapel. At the beginning of the 20th century, a merchant from Leonidio (G.Kourtesis) who was carrying wine and oil, was shipwrecked with his boat off the bay in the middle of a storm, but was saved. In honor of his patron saint, he built a chapel at this location, using wine instead of water, and placed an inscription at the entrance that reads:
Which rich man died,
and he took his life with him,
two shroud bars only
to dress his body
The celebration of the church is an important holiday for the inhabitants of Poulithra, where they travel every year by road and by sea in boats to honour St George.

The path leads you to the bay of Fokianos, a pristine pebble beach with turquoise waters where even today you can enjoy the nature and the landscape in peace. In the northern part of the beach, there is a wetland which is a stopover for migratory birds. There are also 2 beach bars and a tavern, but the size of the beach and its peculiarity allow those who want to have a quiet swim to do so.
