Welcome to Poulithra!

Poulithra is a seaside rural/tourist settlement in eastern Arcadia, 7 km from Leonidio, the capital of South Kynouria and 83 km from Argos. At the 2011 census it had 414 inhabitants.It is a designated traditional settlement (1998), which has preserved its traditional colours and architecture. The village is covered by the waters of the Myrtoo Sea and the beaches of the village are pebbled.

Since 2017 it has been part of the Natura 2000 network, with the code name GR2520005 MONI ELONAS KAI CHARADRA LEONIDIOU - SPILAIO MANA KAI GALAZIA LIMNI. According to the archaeologist Professor Constantine Romeo, in Poulithra is the ancient city of Polihni, which is mentioned by the historian Polybius. The acropolis of the ancient city is located on the hill next to the harbour of the village, where remains of an ancient castle/fortress and Byzantine walls are preserved.
